Both Leeds United and Swansea City winger Daniel James will be frustrated this morning, after the player's transfer to Elland Road failed to go through before the 11pm on deadline day, when the Swansea board made a late U-Turn, citing they were unhappy with the payment terms.

Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani had agreed a £1.5m loan fee with Swansea, with an obligation to sign the Wales international permanently for a further £7m if the club earn promotion to the Premier League, with further instalments taking the deal up to £10m.

James had passed a medical in Leeds earlier that day and was waiting at Elland Road for the transfer to be announced, but it is alleged there was conflict in the Swansea boardroom over the sale of the winger.

So what can be made of the whole James to Leeds transfer debacle?

We discuss.....

Louie Chandler

"It's appalling from Swansea.

"They have screwed Leeds over here but also screwed one of their own youth products out of a brilliant move.

"They have screwed themselves out of a hefty transfer fee and will no doubt just lose James in the summer now."

Gary Hutchinson

“It’s a disappointment for James and for Leeds.

“It goes to show leaving your business late is not always a good thing.

“If they’d tried harder two weeks ago and missed out, they might have a second choice now.”

Jay Taylor

"It's an utter mess.

"The poor lad spent his whole day at Elland Road only for his current club to stall over the deal and eventually run the clock out.

"Some sort of silent filibustering from the Welsh side.

"It's an awful turn of events for the player - more so than either club.

"He's been mugged off."
