Frank Lampard's first foray into club management faces being derailed should the Rams not get promoted to the Premier League this season, amid speculation that club owner Mel Morris could look to sell the club as reported in the Daily Mail.

Though sources have indicated that the club has not been put up for sale now, it is believed that this could change if promotion is not achieved, with Morris reportedly losing £3million per month.

So should Derby fans be concerned amid sale speculation?

We discuss.....

Jacob Potter

"It’s an interesting move.

"I didn’t think Mel Morris would be wanting to sell up at this point in the season, because Derby are challenging for promotion.

"The timing of this move is certainly odd."

“It could help them change their fortunes – for better or worse.

“You never know how takeovers are going to pan out – look at Bolton for example.

“I think there needs to be caution actioned here, but it looks like the owner wants to up and leave because he isn’t getting the success that he feels his vast investment warrants.”

Gary Hutchinson

“Does it hint at FFP issues?

“This ‘go for broke’ attitude has already been the downfall of QPR and Birmingham.

“Are Derby next? Are Forest going to suffer as well?

“Interesting times at Pride Park.”
