Luton Town manager Graeme Jones is stamping his own mark on his squad this summer, with the club website confirming the signing of Everton defender Brendan Galloway on a free transfer.

Galloway, 23, joined Everton from MK Dons in 2014 and made 21 first-team appearances for the Toffees, he is also an England U-17 and U-19 international and has also spent time on loan with West Brom and Sunderland, playing a total of 13 games.

Hatters manager Graeme Jones, who was on the Everton coaching staff when Galloway made his debut, told the club website: "Brendan's a left-back who can play centre-half," adding "He's lightning quick, competent on the ball and really loves to get forward."

So will Galloway prove to be a good signing at Luton Town?

We discuss........

George Dagless

"I think so.

"The defender is perhaps not good enough yet to play in the Premier League but this gives him the chance to show that he could get there.

"He's got plenty of pace and power whilst he stands at over 6 foot tall and this makes him a real asset to have in the defensive areas of the pitch - as well as making him a powerful runner.

"The defender has plenty to offer and under Graeme Jones, he is working with a manager that will know how to get the best out of him.

"It's a signing I expect to yield good results for Luton after the players that left from that area of the pitch were confirmed."

Tommy Joyce

"With the departure of James Justin, Galloway is a smart signing for Luton, who clearly has talent.

"Now at 23, he needs to start getting regular football. He has been capped for England U21s and has notched up 20 Premier League games and played in the Championship for Sunderland.

"He will have a point to prove now to try and reignite his career as it has gone slightly stale. Considering his talent and his age, he should've played a lot more football.

"It is a clever signing by Luton, who have bought another left back with big potential and a big potential resale value."

Ned Holmes

"Replacing James Justin was always going to be a difficult task for Luton Town after the sensational performances he put in last season, but the arrival of Brendan Galloway should give fans hope.

"The 23-year-old Everton defender looks a talented young full-back but has seen his development stutter slightly, his move to the Hatters could be the ideal thing to get him going again.

"The full-backs play a key role in Luton’s signature 442 diamond formation and Galloway was impressive in glimpses during his 20 Premier League appearances.

"Having got their man on a free transfer, it's an excellent bit of business and an important addition in the season after their promotion from League One."
