Sheffield Wednesday manager Steve Bruce is moving swiftly to get his summer transfer business complete, with pre-season just a matter of weeks away, as he looks to get together a side capable of mounting a serious promotion challenge next season.

One bit of business that is on the verge of being completed is a move by Bruce to sign former Brentford full-back Moses Odubajo, who is a free-agent this summer, according to the print edition of The Sun (June 12, Page 52).

Bruce and the full-back know each other well, with them both enjoying a successful, promotion-winning campaign at Hull City together.

So, if Wednesday do seal the signing of Odubajo on a free, could he be one of the bargains of the summer?

We discuss........

Kealan Hughes

"This could be a brilliant signing from Bruce. On his day Odubajo is one of the best full-backs in the division.

"It is a shame he spent so long out injured and that would be a concern for Wednesday, but there is a reason Hull bought him for £3 million and if he replicates his previous form then he would be an exceptional signing on a free.

"He is great going forward, and is adept with both feet which allows for good versatility. If he finds his form and fitness then not only would he be one of Wedneday's best players, but he could also fetch a large fee in the future."

Alfie Burns

"It could be excellent business from Bruce and it certainly fits in with how Wednesday are going to have to be clever with how they deal this summer.

"Odubajo is obviously a player that Bruce knows well, which takes risk out of any potential move, and linking back up could be a really shrewd move.

"Players linking back up with former managers is so underrated and it is a shrewd way to deal.

"Did we really expect anything else from Bruce?"

Gary Hutchinson

“He could indeed, yes.

“I like him, always have. He has Championship experience and is still young enough to reach his potential.

“He showed incredible fortitude as well, coming back from injury as he did.

“I think they’ve got a real bargain there.”

George Brooks

"I think so, it's an absolute steal.

"Odubajo is a very good player and to lose a player of his quality on a free transfer is a big disappointment for Brentford.

"Steve Bruce has been able to get the best out of Odubajo before at Hull City and if I can get the best out of him at Hillsborough next season, he could be a great singing for the Owls.

"The fact that they would be getting on him a free is even better."
