Leeds United are reportedly looking to secure a £2.6 million deal for Sporting defender Tobias Figueiredo, according to reports.

At the age of 23, the defender still has time to mature and develop as a footballer, so is this a good amount of money for Leeds to be spending on him?

George Dagless

It could be.

It's not a massive fee by no means but it's enough to suggest that he'll have a fairly big part to play.

I think it's a pretty low-risk figure.

Chris Gallagher

It seems fair.

Whether he turns out to be a good signing or not, you would have to pay a reasonable amount for someone who is contracted to Sporting Lisbon and has represented Portugal as a youngster.

As well as that, he's still young at 23 which means he has the potential to be sold on for much more down the line.

Alfie Burns

For the age the defender is at, it really isn’t bad at all.

However, in January, it is hard to see Leeds parting with too much money, and spending £2.6m on another centre-back, for me, would be a mistake.

Christiansen is in desperate need for another striker and a left-back, and Leeds’ supporters will hope to see other areas prioritised in January.

Adam Simeoni

It's an absolute bargain.

The player is full of potential, and £2.6 million would be an absolute steal.

Leeds have money left over from the sale of Chris Wood, and investing in Figueirido would be a shrewd piece of business by the club.
