Leeds United missed their third successive penalty in the Championship on Sunday when Kemar Roofe's spot-kick was saved against Ipswich at Portman Road.

It was a kick that would have given the Whites a 3-2 lead, but instead Paul Lambert's side went on to take all three points with a 90th minute Colin Quaner goal.

After defeats to Brentford and Wigan Athletic over the Easter weekend, it means Marcelo Bielsa has now lost three of his last four matches ahead of a huge play-off campaign.

And former striker Noel Whelan has since emerged to pick his favoured penalty taker at his former club, telling Football Insider that he would lean towards Mateusz Klich being given the responsibility.

So, would this be a wise choice?

We discuss...

George Harbey

"I think it’s all a bit over the top to be honest.

"Sure, Leeds have missed their fair share of penalties this season, but every player misses penalties and it’s whether they’re feeling confident enough to take them that really matters.

"There’s bigger things to worry about for Bielsa’s side right now, in my opinion."

Jacob Potter

"He's spot on.

"Leeds have a real issue with penalties which will be a concern heading into the play-offs, where a spot-kick could well be the deciding factor between the Championship and a place in the Premier League.

"Klich should be first-choice, and you won't find a better striker of the ball at Leeds this season."

Toby Wilding

"Usually it would make sense to give someone else a go, but going into the play-offs changes that somewhat.

"If either the semis or the final go to penalties, then Klich will not be able to take all five, and there could be at least three men stepping up to take arguably the most important penalty of their career with next to no confidence, simply because they haven't been given the chance to rectify their last mistake from the spot."
