Leeds United have cut short Paudie O'Connor's loan spell with Blackpool, but he isn't sticking around for long with the defender set to join Bradford on loan according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The Whites youngster is set to undergo a medical at Valley Parade ahead of a loan move for the remainder of this year's campaign.

It won't be a surprise to see O'Connor cutting short his loan spell with Blackpool after he made just ten appearances in their league campaign.

The 21-year-old will be keen to prove himself to former Leeds man, David Hopkin who is currently in charge of relegation threatened Bradford.

O'Connor is set to become the third Leeds defender to depart the club on loan, following Lewie Coyle's loan to Fleetwood and Connor Shaughnessy's loan deal to Scottish side, Hearts for the remainder of the season.

It will come as a surprising move to some fans, with Marcelo Bielsa being short of defensive options for large parts of this year's campaign.

But is letting O'Connor depart a wise move by Leeds?

We discuss....

Louie Chandler:

It's a wise move.

As much as Leeds could do with more cover in defence they need players who can perform to Championship standard and I don't think that O'Connor is there yet.

They would be much better suited looking for reinforcements in the transfer market this month.

George Harbey:

It's a very brave call by Bielsa.

Leeds have had a host of injuries this season, and although O'Connor may not be a first team regular, he'd provide some much-needed depth.

Bielsa normally knows what he's doing, but he could regret this one.

Jacob Potter:

It's a sensible decision.

Leeds may have been short of defensive options for the majority of the season, but with the likes of Gaetano Berardi and Liam Cooper edging closer to a return, it makes sense for the youngster to head out on loan.

He needs regular game time, and he won't be getting that at Leeds this season, so it's the best move for both clubs.
