Middlesbrough slipped to their fourth defeat in a row at the weekend when they went down 1-0 to league leaders Norwich City, a result that saw Tony Pulis' side drop down to eighth in the Championship and out of the play-off spots, with eight matches of the season remaining.

Boro though are looking towards life after Pulis, should the 61-year-old quit in the summer, with current Boro coach and local hero Jonathan Woodgate the preferred option for owner Steve Gibson, according to the Sun on Sunday (March 31, Page 59).

So would Woodgate be a good choice at Boro?

We discuss........

George Dagless

"Potentially.

"He knows the club and might be able to bring something different to the side.

"There's a growing tiredness around Pulis and it makes sense to perhaps look at changing it."

George Harbey

"It's a strange one.

"Woodgate would have a great rapport with the fans and knows the club inside out.

"We have seen Chris Wilder succeed at the club he loves in Sheffield United, so there is no reason why this can't work out."

Jay Taylor

“He knows the club, the fans and what they want, and more importantly, expect.

“It is a risk as there is no previous experience in management.

“But sometimes that is a positive as there will no fear and no holding back.

“It could be a great signing – or one that turns out worse than the Pulis regime.”
