Managerless Nottingham Forest have turned down a bid from bitter rivals and League Two basement club Notts County to take midfielder Jorge Grant on loan for the remainder of the season, according to the Nottingham Post.

The 24-year-old has just returned to the City Ground having had his loan spell at Luton Town cut short, but though he has enjoyed two successful loan spells at Meadow Lane, Forest have indicated that the player will be going to League One if he goes out on loan again.

But would a move to Notts County be good for Grant? Should Forest of rejected the loan bid from Notts County?

We discuss.....

Jay Taylor

“It’s a little odd if you ask me, as having returned from a loan spell at Luton, he hasn’t featured for his parent club yet.

“Unless, with a new manager, he could well get a shot, but I would imagine he will be a player loaned out in the coming days and weeks.

“Not surprised the inquiry was rejected, County are lowly strugglers in the fourth tier, and Luton are firing for promotion – maybe the club want him to be playing at a higher level than what their near rivals are.”

Louie Chandler

"I think it's fair enough.

"With Karanka having left I would not expect any departures or arrivals until a replacement is found.

"Also, with the state Notts County are currently in, Forest have every right to want to send their player to a better club."

Gary Hutchinson

“It’s not surprising.

“There’s a deal already in place, I’m sure of that.

“It might be somewhere like Mansfield, they’ve already got Tyler Walker and seem intent on buying promotion.”

Jacob Potter

"It’s a strange decision.

"Grant isn’t getting enough regular game time with Forest this season, and his development could take a real hit if he isn’t allowed to leave on loan.

"Even though they are bitter rivals, a move to Notts County could be the perfect move to develop as a player."
