Leeds United confirmed the signing of Middlesbrough midfielder Adam Forshaw yesterday in a deal worth around £4.5 million.

The 26-year-old was struggling to break into the starting eleven at Boro so a move was always inevitable, and Thomas Christiansen's Leeds are the team to have taken him on board.

Is this a good signing for Leeds? Do they need him? Good value for money?

We discuss....

He is a decent signing for a decent price - it's a steal for Leeds!

If Leeds are looking for a man to go box to box then they won’t find many better at this level than Forshaw.

He uses the ball well, but lacks a bit of composure when he goes forward.

I think he is about the same level as some of their existing options but he is experienced enough to come in and make a good impact straight away.

George Dagless

I think he'll be a hit.

There's probably reservations over him as he didn't really get in the Boro side but I think he'll prove himself pretty quickly.

He's a good Championship experienced midfielder and that is the kind of thing Leeds needed to add this month.

Chris Gallagher

He's a very good signing for Leeds.

£4.5m might be a bit over the top, but he certainly enhances their midfield and could become an important figure for the Whites.

His passing and ability to control the game will be key and the likes of Samuel Saiz and Pablo Hernandez will get a lot better service with the ex-Boro man in the side and that can only benefit the team.

Alfie Burns

Leeds have reacted fast to injuries and suspensions building up, and although the deal is a little pricey, Forshaw will be a good addition for Christiansen.

As a Leeds fan, it is finally nice to see the club paying the going rate for domestic players, rather than searching for a cheaper alternative abroad.

Forshaw could be the perfect partner for Ronaldo Vieira in central midfield, and in time, I’m looking forward to see how the duo gel together.
