New QPR manager Mark Warburton has a busy summer ahead of him, as he looks to assess his playing squad and make the necessary changes that can turn his side into serious top-six challengers next season.
Four players have already been shown the Loftus Road exit door, while veteran full-back Angel Rangel is one of a number of players of be offered a new deal, as per the official club website.
So is a new deal for Rangel good business for QPR?
“As what, a coach?
“He’s had a decent season, granted, but how old is he now?
“I thought they’d be making progress, this stinks of standing still.
“Perhaps he’ll prove me wrong; we’ll see.”
“I think so.
“Rangel is an experienced defender and has been an important player for QPR this season.
“He is popular with supporters at Loftus Road and is a big influence both on the pitch and in the dressing room.”
“It’s a smart move.
“There’s no doubting that QPR needed to clear out a number of players to trim the wage bill ahead of next season.
“But Rangel has proven that he can be a key player for the Hoops for at least another year, and his experience will be crucial to helping young players come through and perform for the first-team.”
