Barnsley manager Daniel Stendel is preparing for life in the Championship next season, with pre-season just around the corner with former Chelsea goalkeeper Brad Collins the latest player to move to Oakwell as confirmed on the club website.

The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at League One side Burton, making 35 appearances in all competitions having previously spent time on loan at Forest Green Rovers, while also winning the Uefa Youth League and FA Youth Cup with Chelsea in the 2014-15 season.

But will Collins prove to be a good replacement for soon to depart Adam Davies?

We discuss........

Tommy Joyce

"Bradley Collins could be a really good signing for Barnsley, even if he might not be to the standard of Adam Davies.

"Davies has been a great servant for Barnsley and it's a shame they couldn't get any money for him - though they did get their money's worth from him, as they also picked him up on a free.

"In Collins they are getting a player who has potential for a big resale value and has a lot of room to improve.

"He played a season in League One last year and looked good - so it's a sensible signing from The Tykes."

Ben Lang

"This is a really good signing from Barnsley, and it will soften the blow of Davies departing after so long at the club.

"Collins has a tough act to follow given Davies' impressive form last season, but he has proven at both Forest Green and Burton that he is now capable of playing senior football at a good standard regularly.

"It is also a smart forward-thinking move, in the sense that Collins is still very young at 22 and has been handed a four-year contract. This gives the Tykes stability in between the sticks for the foreseeable future.

"Barnsley fans should feel excited about this move, as it also marks a statement of intent from the newly promoted side."
