Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson is a transfer target for Premier League side West Ham United, as revealed by Guardian Editor Ed Aarons.

Would this be a good signing for West Ham? Should Leeds do all they can to keep him?

We discuss....

Chris Gallagher

They've clearly not been watching him this season!

It's a risky move from West Ham as Jansson has struggled in this campaign, although he was superb last year.

However, Leeds cannot sell unless they get a stupid fee. He is still the best centre-back at the club and if they want to progress they need to keep hold of their best players - look how they've struggled without Chris Wood this season.

The priority needs to be finding him a solid partner, like he had last year.

Gary Hutchinson

There's no surprise in news that Jansson is attracting interest, his recent comments have suggested he's not in the right frame of mind to represent Leeds anymore.

In fact, the move makes perfect sense. Leeds need to generate income for some fresh faces and Jansson is a saleable asset.

If I could offer advice to the selling club though I'd say 'hang fire' until the World Cup is done. He could put another zero on his fee with three decent matches in Russia.

George Dagless

He'd be perfect for West Ham.

Jansson is a good defender and is better than what's been going on around him at Elland Road.

The men from the London Stadium need to bring the age of their defence down a little bit and Jansson could provide the defender in his prime that they need.
