Bristol City manager Lee Johnson is expected to be busy between now and the close of the transfer window on Thursday with Monaco midfielder Han-Noah Massengo an imminent multi-million pound arrival at Ashton Gate, according to a report in the Bristol Post.

Massengo, 18, could be the first of five potential signings arriving at the Robins before the window closes, as reported on BBC Sport with Johnson telling BBC Radio Bristol; "In an ideal world we would do a centre-half, a right-back, a holding central midfielder, an attacking central midfielder - which you know, Massengo - and a centre forward."

So will Monaco wonder-kid Massengo prove a hit at Ashton Gate? What are your thoughts on this deal?

"Wow, this is a very exciting signing for Bristol City.

"Monaco have produced some extremely talented players over the years and the midfielder is extremely highly-rated, so fans are right to be buzzing about his arrival.

"Of course, they will need to be patient as he is an 18-year-old kid settling into a new country and a new league, which will require time.

"However, they need new additions in the middle of the park and Massengo should add a lot to the team with his technical ability and the way he can build play. It's a significant outlay from the Robins but he has the potential to be a star for Lee Johnson's side and this will be one of the most intriguing deals of the summer if it goes through."

Louie Chandler

"It's a pretty big risk if you ask me.

"The Robins have a very real chance of winning promotion this season but with Adam Webster departing they will need to find a replacement.

"So splashing such a large amount of their available budget on an unproven 18-year-old seems like a very strange decision, especially when a striker is still likely to be targeted as well.

"Don't get me wrong, there is every chance he will go on to become the next big thing, I just don't think it should be a priority for them."

"This is an interesting one.

"The calibre of side Massengo is coming from and the reported fee Bristol City look set to pay does seem to suggest this is something of a statement of intent from The Robins, given this is the sort of signing you often see from the Premier League's biggest clubs.

"However, you do wonder if there are more immediate priorities with regards to the first team squad where that money would be better spent, particularly given the struggles they endured both upfront and in defence against Leeds on Sunday.

"Admittedly, the size of the fee received for Adam Webster does mean they could be able to afford both, but with time running out in the transfer window, the pressure does seem to be on for them to build a side to push for promotion this season, and you wonder whether at 18-years-old, and with very little first-team experience under his belt, Massengo is ready to make that sort of impact at Ashton Gate this season."
