Sky Sports presenter David Prutton has suggested that it's a 'possibility' that Ben White could get an England call-up for the Euros next summer.

The Euro 2020 tournament has been cancelled this summer as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, and has now been re-arranged for 2021.

Ben White has enjoyed a stellar 2019/20 campaign so far at Elland Road, and has become a consistently reliable figure at the heart of the Leeds defence, whilst also mucking in at central midfield when called upon.

It's easy to forget that the player on loan from Brighton is just 22, with his composed, classy performances really standing out during his time at the Yorkshire side.

Leeds have a number of talented English players with Kalvin Phillips and Jack Harrison among those who could have a chance of getting into Gareth Southgate's England team in the future.

When asked whether White was capable of getting an England call-up next summer, Prutton said to the Yorkshire Evening Post: "From Ben White's point of view, he is obviously a younger player with different levels of football under his belt so again it's a possibility."

The verdict

It's no surprise to see Prutton not rule this possibility out, as White has been exceptional since arriving at Leeds on loan from Brighton.

Superb at playing the ball out from the back with an impressive passing skill-set, combined with a defensive nous and determination to win, White has all the components to become a top player in the Premier League.

It's no real surprise to see the likes of Liverpool hold an interest in White, who has every chance of progressing and potentially making the England squad.
