It will certainly be interesting to see who starts at left-back for Nottingham Forest this afternoon, as the Reds prepare to take on Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium.

The Reds drew 1-1 with Luton Town in midweek, in a game which saw Forest be reduced to 10-men on the stroke of half-time.

Nicholas Ioannou was shown a straight red card for a strong challenge on Martin Cranie right before the interval, meaning that the 24-year-old will miss Forest's next three games.

A trio of players will be desperate to replace Ioannou in the Reds' starting line-up, especially with Tyler Blackett also out injured.

Yuri Ribeiro, Gaetan Bong and Carl Jenkinson are the contenders to replace Ioannou, as Hughton revealed in his pre-match press conference.

Fans are particularly keen to see Ribeiro start, given the Portuguese defender's importance for Forest last season.

Ribeiro was a key player under Sabri Lamouchi last term, but he has seemingly been frozen out this season which has surprised many.
