West Brom may have moved to end the short-term speculation over their manager's post, by confirming caretaker manager Jimmy Shan until the end of the 2018/19 season, but a decision remains as to who will take the helm at the Hawthorns long-term.

First choice Alex Neil at Preston has signed a new three year deal at Deepdale, ruling him out of the equation , so the spotlight has moved onto Slavisa Jokanovic, who has been out of work since leaving Fulham.

So should Jokanovic be top of West Brom's list after Neil agreed a new Preston deal?

We discuss........

Toby Wilding

"It's a name they keep coming back to, and it is hard to see what more he could have done to prove himself.

"Jokanovic knows all about getting a team up through the play-offs having done so less than twelve months ago, although he did have much more time to prepare for it then.

"Perhaps if West Brom fall at that hurdle this season, the arrival of Jokanovic in the summer would give him plenty of time to build for a promotion push."

Alfie Burns

“You’d have to say he caters for what the current squad needs right now.

" But they have decided that the best option is to wait until the summer.

“That might be their best chance of getting hold of Jokanovic, giving hiom a fresh start in either the Premier League or Championship”

Louie Chandler

"He has to be doesn't he? It's a no brainer.

"I have always said that Alex Neil would be the best option but closely followed by the former Fulham boss.

"You would certainly back him to get them promoted, but would there be any long term benefits? I doubt it."
