Derby County are weighing up a swoop for Swansea City striker Oli McBurnie, with Leeds United very much in contention to sign him as well - reports the Scottish Sun.

The 21-year-old is enjoying a superb loan stint at Barnsley and his impressive displays have certainly caught the attention of other clubs.

Would McBurnie be a good signing for the Rams?

We discuss....

George Dagless

Do they need him?

Derby have a number of strikers and have the likes of Chris Martin out on loan so I'm not sure whether they need McBurnie as well.

If they do go for him it suggests to me a few might be leaving Pride Park in the summer.

Chris Gallagher

Exactly what they need.

The Rams have an ageing strike force that are past their best.

McBurnie is young, hungry and ready to prove himself. More importantly he scores goals at this level and would be a big signing.

Jay Williams

McBurnie would be an upgrade on Cameron Jerome and Dave Nugent if Derby could snap him up.

Having a strong, tall centre forward like McBurnie with Matej Vydra working off him would be a lethal combination and surely Derby would be competing for automatic promotion next season with this strike duo.

But Derby will need to act soon as it seems that McBurnie favours a move to Leeds.

Gary Hutchinson

Obviously, this would be a good move. McBurnie has scored for Barnsley regularly, he's young and hungry and given a chance, he could be a top player.

It's a no-brainer for Derby really.

He would be frightening alongside Vydra for the Rams, but he won't come easy as there's bound to be intense competition for his signature.
