Bolton Wanderers are weighing up a loan swoop for Sheffield United striker Ched Evans, according to journalist Alan Nixon.
Would this be a good signing for Wanderers?
It’s worth a punt.
Gary Madine and Ched Evans can score goals at this level and their combined efforts could see the Trotters stay up.
Evans isn’t playing for Sheffield United this year and he’d probably jump at a move away.
Evans and Gary Madine would be a no-nonsense partnership and I think they could just score the goals to get Bolton out of trouble.
Madine needs someone to share the workload with and Evans could just be that man.
Depends on the finances but he could be a steal.
It’s a move that suits everyone.
Bolton need a striker to give them more options up front, whilst Evans will want to play games and that’s not happening at Bramall Lane.
The striker still has a lot to prove at this level and will relish the chance to help keep Bolton up. A decent signing if it happens.
Bolton are in need of fire power, and with Evans way down the pecking order at Bramall Lane, a move to the Trotters makes sense.
However after failing to break into the Blades side on a regular basis this season, is Evans good enough for the second tier?
This could be his chance to prove that he still has what it takes, although it is a gamble for Bolton.
