Leeds United are already adding talent to the ranks as they plan for the future, with the club agreeing a deal to bring young Scottish winger Stuart McKinstry to the club.

Confirmed by the Scottish Sun, the Whites have beaten the likes of Southampton to the signing of one of the most exciting talents in the SPL, with Motherwell no doubt upset to be losing one of their key assets so early in his career.

The 16-year-old will join Leeds in the summer and will be buoyed by the fact that the Elland Road club seem open to giving youth a chance under Marcelo Bielsa.

But just how good a signing is it, and will it have any bearing on Leeds as we stand currently?

Our writers here at FLW offered their thoughts on the McKinstry to Leeds deal...

Gary Hutchinson

“It might be, but not in the short term.

“He’s not going to be affecting their title ambitions, is he/

“So to that end, the impact will only be felt further down the line.”

George Harbey

"I think it’s a huge coup when you consider that they Premier League clubs to his signature.
"McKinstry looks to be a really exciting player on paper and will have a good future ahead of him.
"Bielsa is the perfect manager to play for."
Lee Connor
" We can't really be sure can we let's be honest?
"The lad's not played a game yet and already he's being hyped as the next big thing.
"The big positive for him is that Leeds will give him a chance, and if he does develop, then yes, it's a big coup for the club in the long-term."
