Queens Park Rangers manager Mark Warburton has really got his side firing this season, with the R's in seventh place in the Championship, just three points adrift of current leaders Leeds United.

There is further good news off the pitch as well, with the news that 21-year-old midfielder Ilias Chair has signed a new deal keeping him at Loftus Road for a further three-years, as confirmed on the official club website.

So is a new deal for Chair a smart move by the club?

We discuss........

George Dagless

"Absolutely.

"Chair is a fine talent and one of those players that get you up out of your seat and excited.

"QPR have some great young players coming through and need to keep hold of them for as long as possible, or at least stop them from leaving on the cheap.

"This is certainly the right course of action from the west London side."

Josh Cole

“This is without doubt fantastic news for QPR as Chair has illustrated in recent weeks that he is more than capable of thriving at Championship level.

“Following a highly successful loan spell at Stevenage last season which saw him provide 12 goal contributions in just 16 appearances, the midfielder has since taken his game to new heights.

“With two assists to his name this season as well as one goal, Chair will be looking to help the Hoops push on in the Championship.

“Now set to stay at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium until 2023, the 21-year-old could very well become a pivotal player for QPR in the not too distant future.”

George Brooks

"It's a great move. Ilias Chair is a very promising young player and he could have a big future ahead of him at QPR.

"He was excellent while on loan at Stevenage in League Two last season and his performances for QPR in the Championship so far this season have been very encouraging.

"He thoroughly deserved to be rewarded with a new deal and he now has the chance to take his career at Loftus Road to the next level.

"He's got to make sure that he keeps putting the work in on the pitch and an experienced manager like Mark Warburton should be able to get the best out of him and help him to realise his potential."
