Football League World's Cardiff City fan pundit Rhys Davies has given his thoughts on the club's rumoured interest in young goalkeeper Curtis Anderson.

Alan Nixon of The Sun reported the rumour on Sunday afternoon, stating that the Blue Birds were interested in bringing in the 19-year-old who was released by American side Charlotte Independence, after making the move accross the pond in March from Manchester City.

"He’s 19 and has represented England at youth level, so I think it’s a gamble worth taking for Cardiff," the regular punter told Football League World.

"I doubt he’d challenge for a first team spot, especially as Neil Etheridge is coming back into fitness after keeping 10 clean sheets in the Premier League last season.

"But If he is to pick up another injury, Anderson could fight for a spot against Alex Smithies, who joined Cardiff just this summer."

During his time in Manchester, the shot-stopper made six appearances for the club's reserve side and a further 11 for their Under-18s before making the move to the USA.

But after keeping just two clean-sheets in ten appearances, they decided not to keep him on, releasing him at the end of August.

Following their relegation from the Premier League last season, Cardiff have made a steady start to life back in the second-tier, picking up three wins from their opening nine matches and sitting in 12th place.

Wednesday night will see them come up against in-form Queens Park Rangers at the Cardiff City Stadium with Neil Warnock and co. undoubtedly keen to continue their push up the table.
