Aston Villa got their season back on track with a 2-0 win over Rotherham at Villa Park last night, with manager Steve Bruce opting for the striking partnership of Jonathan Kodjia and new loan signing Tammy Abraham.

Abraham got on the score sheet following a pass from Kodjia and both players looked to have struck up an immediate partnership.

So is starting Kodjia and Abraham together a good move for Villa?

We discuss.....

Gary Hutchinson

Yes, finally he showed some attacking know-how!

Those are two players who would walk into 95% of Championship sides.

Why on earth would you not find a way to play them both?

It’s time for the negative tactics to stop at Villa. Pile forward and make the most of some wonderful players.

George Dagless

For certain games yes.

I don't think he'll do it away to the likes of Leeds or Brentford for example as that has never been his style really.

Games like last night Villa have to go for, though, and so such a call should have pleased the fans who want a braver approach at times.

Jay Taylor

It was a very good move.

They seemed to have hit it off instantly and that was on display with Kodjia’s reverse ball through to Abraham to slot home.

The understating was there and that bodes well for games further down the line.

If the two can stay fit and play regularly then there is no end to the potential that front parting can exude.

George Harbey

I think it’s a fantastic move from Bruce - the pair are both fantastic goalscorers in this division and will be integral parts of pushing Villa up the table and forming a promotion push.

You can see that after just one game of playing together, their understanding is already there, with Kodjia assisting Abraham for his first Villa goal last night; there is definitely more to come from this duo.
