Derby County could lose key man Harry Wilson in the January window, with Jurgen Klopp not refusing to rule out recalling the talented winger.

The Welsh international has enjoyed a superb time at Pride Park in the past few months, with his form really catching the eye.

However, whilst he would still be way down the pecking order at Anfield if he returned, Klopp told the Evening Standard that if the injury situation changes then Wilson may have to come back.

"If now something happens in an offensive wing position why should I say today 100 per cent we would not do it."

The German coach explained how the situation can change quickly, with Liverpool losing several defenders to injury in the past few weeks.

Although, he was quick to praise Frank Lampard for the work he has done with Wilson and the Rams side.

So, should Derby be worried? And, how big a blow would losing Wilson be?

Our writers take a look...

It would be enormous.

Wilson has been the Rams player of the season so far, there are no two ways about it, so losing him in January would be massive.

Nobody in the side has the ability to win a match on their own like he currently has.

Alfie Burns

It’s a concern for Derby and Wilson’s departure would be a huge blow.

However, Liverpool are a good club and won’t bring him back unless they need him, which makes it unlikely.

Until more news develops, I wouldn't be too worried.

It could derail their promotion bid this season.

Wilson has been hugely impressive for Derby this season and seems to be thriving under the guidance of Frank Lampard.

He has the ability to change the course of a game on his own at times and if Derby do lose him in January, then Lampard will need to act swiftly to bring in a replacement for Wilson who has been crucial in their impressive start to this season.
