Nottingham Forest have been dealt a setback in their pursuit of signing Kamil Grosicki on loan from West Brom, with the Reds losing their appeal after an arbitration hearing on Tuesday.

It was a situation that was left without a conclusion ever since the transfer deadline day, but it has now reached its end with Grosicki now set to stay at the Baggies to fight for a spot in their starting eleven.

So, with this news in mind, do you class Nottingham Forest losing out on Grosicki as a major blow or can they deal with it?

The team here at FLW have their say....

It's a blow, but it isn't the end of the world I don't think.

It would have been a bonus to add Grosicki to the squad - he has proven to be a quality player in the Championship for a struggling Hull side in the past, and he would add real speed and pace to the team.

It's obviously frustrating to miss out on him after a couple of weeks of waiting to hear about a decision, but it isn't the end of the world for the Reds, as they still have some quality options to choose from.

They have three experienced wingers in Sammy Ameobi, Joe Lolley and Anthony Knockaert who are all quality players at this level, and they also have a talented young player in Alex Mighten, who has bags of potential and a big future ahead of him.

One positive you can take from this, is that if they did sign Grosicki, then Mighten would have been pushed down the pecking order even further, however he could now be given a chance to prove himself and develop.

You'd imagine they can deal with it.

I would think Forest fans are hoping that with the number of players that have come in they are capable of getting results without another arrival but it's obvious Chris Hughton would have liked him.

In that sense it's a bit of a setback as he wanted the winger part of his plans but the Reds have a big squad and I do think that they will be able to find a way without him for sure - they need to now anyway.

Do Nottingham Forest and Derby County have these 10 things in common? Have a go now!

I think in the current circumstances, it has to come as a significant blow for the Reds.

Grosicki has already shown that he can perform to a high standard in the Championship, having played for both Hull City and West Brom at this level in recent years.

He's highly unlikely to get the regular game time he wants with the Baggies this term though, and I wasn't surprised to see him being linked with a move away from The Hawthorns.

Grosicki will surely cut a frustrated figure right now, as you would imagine that he would have been keen on a move to Nottingham Forest.

The Reds haven't been anywhere near good enough this season, and fresh ideas were needed in wide areas of the pitch, even with Knockaert arriving in the summer.

This is a hugely frustrating update to hear that Grosicki's move won't be completed.
