Sheffield Wednesday winger Adam Reach has told The Star that the Owls players are taking time to adapt to manager Jos Luhukay's methods following his arrival at the club 10 months ago.

Reach added that players had got too comfortable under previous manager Carlos Carvalhal, who initially had a successful spell at the club, but the players eased up towards the end of his reign and the side's form dropped.

Luhukay made an immediate impact on his arrival and the Owls finished last season well, but this season after an encouraging start, Wednesday have dropped away finding themselves in 17th place, as they head into the international break.

Our team give their thoughts on Reach's comments....

It’s inevitable, really - they get comfortable with a manager and things become routine and you naturally ease off at times.

It’s a startling admission and could be one of the causes for Carlos Carvalhal’s dismissal but as players, they should be giving their all in training and on the pitch.

I am surprised at the lack of professionalism shown here.

Gary Hutchinson

If they did then Luhukay should sell them.

Players play for clubs and fans, managers should be incidental.

The manager sets tactics and approach, but a player shouldn’t purely play for them.

It’s a disgusting comment.

George Dagless

It's a bit of a worry.

As a professional player should be able to get themselves motivated but you can understand why things might drop off eventually with the way things went at the Owls.

Fans will hope the same doesn't happen with Luhukay.
