Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has got his side motoring along, sitting on top of the Championship table with only one defeat all season, ahead of the visit of Derby County at the weekend.

But with the Whites playing so well, fans can't help but be concerned that clubs may look to recall their loan players, players like on-loan Brighton defender Ben White, who has had an excellent start to the season at Elland Road, who does have a recall clause in his deal with Leeds.

This however is despite the assurances of Leeds Managing Director Angus Kinnear who suggested on the Talking Shutt podcast that a recall clause is a standard clause within loan deals.

So should it be a concern for Leeds fans that White could be recalled by the Seagulls?

We discuss........

Chris Gallagher

"Despite Angus Kinnear seeming to dismiss this as a concern, I'd be very worried if I was a Leeds fan.

"His form isn't going to go unnoticed by Brighton and if we're honest, there's not a massive gap between the top of the Championship and the bottom of the Premier League.

"So, if he is starring at this level, which he is, and Brighton are shipping goals, which they are, then questions are going to be asked.

"Whilst staying at Leeds for the season might be best for his development, the Seagulls need to do all they can to survive and if recalling him can help in any way, then it's decision they will take.

"A lot will depend on how Brighton play up to the New Year but if they don't tighten up then Leeds will be getting nervous."

Toby Wilding

"I think this has to be a worry for them.

"White has been hugely impressive filling the not insignificant void left by Pontus Jansson, so you feel he himself would be a big miss were he to leave the club halfway through what looks set to be another season competing for promotion.

"However, that success will not have gone unnoticed at Brighton, and if Leicester are to rekindle their apparent summer interest in Lewis Dunk as a replacement for Harry Maguire in January, then that would leave the Seagulls themselves needing cover at centre back.

"As a result, White's performances this season would mean that Brighton would surely see him as a viable option in that role, while also meaning they would not have to dip back into the transfer market and spend big to find that cover, which could mean that Leeds may be facing yet more worries over their central defensive options in just a few months time."

Is this the WORST Leeds United XI from the last 15 years? We'll let YOU decide....

Ned Holmes

“I’m not sure it is a big concern but it'd be understandable if they’re were.

“Kinnear has suggested that the decision over White’s January recall will like be made in terms of how much he’s playing, how well he’s playing and his enjoyment–all of those things would indicate he will stay on at Elland Road.

“However, with the clause being in place it would only take a few injuries or a January move for Lewis Dunk, for example, before the Seagulls may feel they’re a bit light at centre-back.

“With White having started the way he has, it would be understandable if Brighton feel he is adequately equipped to step up and provide some cover.”
