Motherwell midfielder Alex Rodriguez Gorrin is a wanted man, with a trio of Championship clubs interested in bringing him to their respective club this summer.

The Daily Record is reporting that Millwall are keen on the services of the 25-year-old, but face competition from Blackburn Rovers and Wigan Athletic.

The Lions are in a relegation battle in the second tier and are outside the bottom three by just one place and one point after their defeat to Leeds last weekend.

Gorrin is out of contract in the summer, and the club have offered him a new deal, but there is a fight to keep him now amid the interest from several Championship sides and is free to discuss terms.

Since arriving in the summer, it took him until the turn of the year to establish a place in the side on a regular basis, and since then has been a key man at Fir Park.

He made his debut back in August but played only twice before a spell out of the side, earning his place back in the middle of November and has been a regular since the turn of the year.

Gorrin will have a choice to make in the summer between the three clubs vying for his signature, and remaining at Motherwell.

If he were to leave the SPFL, would be a good signing for Neil Harris’ Millwall?

We discuss…

Jay Taylor

“Shaun Williams is not getting any younger, and Ryan Tunnicliffe is out of contract in the summer, so if you look at it that way, he could be a good signing.

“At 25-years-old there is still plenty of him for him to learn and develop and improve if he were to move to the Den.

“Being that it would be a move to the capital, it could appeal to him more than the two Lancashire options that are reportedly on the table.”

Toby Wilding

"Millwall's current position makes it difficult to plan for next season, given that which division they will be playing in next campaign is still not certain.

"Gorrin, however, could be a decent find for a club in Millwall's situation whatever they are doing next season, be that focusing on Championship survival or chasing promotion from League One."

George Harbey

“It'd be some coup.

“Millwall may well be a League One team next season, and if they are, then they will find it tough to sign Gorrin.

“He is a tough, commanding centre-half who would help shore up a leaky Lions defence and add more to their tame midfield.”
