Plymouth Argyle will be looking to build on what was a largely positive first season back in Sky Bet League One, with Ryan Lowe looking to move the club forwards once more.

The Pilgrims played some great attacking football and secured a respectable finish in what was a particularly hectic campaign for the Devonshire outfit.

Planning for next season has already got underway and the club have moved to keep hold of one of their best talents by signing striker Luke Jephcott to a new deal with the third tier side.

The youngster was a standout performer last term and will be looking to beat his previous goal tally when he takes to Home Park pitch in 2021/22.

Here, we take a look at TWO Plymouth Argyle players who could well leave the club in the next month or so...

Scott Wootton

The centre back is seemingly set to depart Home Park at the end of this month as his current contract runs down towards expiry and it appears likely that he won't be staying put.

Wootton was loaned out to Wigan Athletic last season and clearly doesn't feature in his manager's plans moving forwards.

Now aged 29, the defender only realistically has one or two moves left in his career before he seriously thinks about hanging up his boots.

Argyle certainly won't lose any sleep over this expected departure.

Lewis Macleod

The former Wigan Athletic and Glasgow Rangers man is all set to depart Home Park come the end of the month after being told that he is set to be released.

Macleod featured semi regularly for the Pilgrims and couldn't really nail down a starting spot under Lowe if truth be told.

He will now be looking for a new club at the age of 27 and is sure to have plenty of suitors coming his way.

The Scottish midfielder is certainly talented so it wouldn't be a surprise if he ends up at another club in Argyle's league moving forwards.
