Brighton & Hove Albion are looking at making a move for Chelsea full-back Reece James after the youngster has caught the eye with a series of impressive displays whilst on loan at Wigan Athletic this season, as reported in The Sun.

It is reported that the Seagulls could make a bid for a player who though an England youth international, is yet to make a first team appearance for his parent club.

But would James be a good signing for Brighton?

We discuss.....

Jay Taylor

Reece James has been in good form for Wigan this season, and that shows in their league position.

On loan from Chelsea, it would be a typical Brighton signing should he move to the south coast.

James is benefiting from regular first-team football and his ability is shining through.

I would not be surprised if more clubs are in for the defender.

Jacob Potter

It'd be an excellent signing.

The Chelsea youngster has been a vital member of the Wigan squad this year and has featured in all of their 13 league matches for the Championship side.

He would be an excellent addition for Brighton and would provide good depth in the defence for the Premier League side.

Gary Hutchinson

It would be an interesting move to say the least.

It’s where the young academy players careers seem to stall, isn’t it?

The next step for James should be the Chelsea first team, but instead of developing talent they’re farming it.

Brighton would be better for a move though.

George Harbey

I think it’d be a great signing for Brighton - James has impressed at Wigan and has looked a very promising player in Chelsea’s youth ranks.

It’d be a huge blow for Wigan, who have been on a good run of form recently.
