Nottingham Forest manager Aitor Karanka faces competition from the Premier League and Europe, in the race to sign Congolese forward Silas Wamangituka from French Ligue 2 side Paris FC, according to Telefoot.

The 19-year-old is reported to be a target of Newcastle United who along with Forest have both sent scouts to watch the player in recent weeks, but they both face competition from Fiorentina, Olympiakos and Schalke who also seem keen.

So would Wamangituka be a good signing for Forest?

We discuss.....

It would potentially give Forest something different to what they already have.

A tall, mobile, powerful striker with an abundance of pace.

They face reported competition from Newcastle, so it remains to be seen if they can get any such deal over the line.

But if Aitor Karanka can pull it off, then he would be a solid addition to the City Ground.

Chris Gallagher

For the short-term, you'd say no.

Clearly the forward is only young and could improve but he isn't a player that will make a big difference now.

Forest should be looking for players that can help them into the top six, Wamangituka isn't one to do that.

For the kit man's sake I hope this doesn't go through, that's some name.

On a serious note, he's a young player that seems to have caught the eye for Paris FC.

He has potential, but nothing more at the moment, so it'd be a punt at best.
