QPR manager Mark Warburton faces a battle on his hands if he wishes to hold onto Ebere Eze, with Southampton just one of the clubs considering a move for the youngster in the January transfer window, as reported by journalist Alan Nixon in the Sun.

Eze, 21, is a product of the Millwall youth set-up, moving to Loftus Road in 2016 and going on to make 63 appearances, playing in every game so far this season under Warburton.

So with Eze being eyed up by a team higher up the footballing pyramid, would a switch to the Saints be a a good move for the England U20 international?

Louie Chandler

"It'd be a great next step.

"It may be a bit too soon but if he is going to make the step-up to the Premier League there are not too many better clubs he could do that with.

"Southampton are a side who pride themselves on playing decent football and you would have to feel that a player with the pace, control and movement of Eze would fit into that well.

"I do think another year in the Championship would be best for him, however."

Toby Wilding

"I think it could be.

"Eze has certainly caught the eye since breaking through at QPR, and you do feel as though he has shown the potential to play at a higher level that he has during his time with Rangers.

"In Southampton, the attacking midfielder would have the chance to prove himself in the top tier of English football, with a side who both has a history of giving opportunities to young players breaking through, and selling their best assets on to bigger clubs.

"It seems therefore, as though this would not only allow Eze a shot at the Premier League, but also the chance to eventually move on to an even bigger side should he impress during his time at St Mary's."

"Eze is fantastic player and that would be a very good move for the youngster. He's almost ready for that next level now.

"I think a move in the Summer would benefit the midfielder more than one in January. He needs to continue getting Championship experience for a few more months.

"He is supremely gifted, and Saints' past with youngster would make the move more appealing for the player himself and one that he'd probably be delighted to hear about.

"He must be wary though, the Premier League is a top division but full of money. He can't get carried away and must stay grounded if he's to succeed."
