Reading stumbled into the international break with a heavy 4-1 defeat away at second placed West Brom, heaping even more pressure on beleaguered boss Paul Clement, whose Royals side have only picked up nine points from a possible 36, leaving them only a point off the Championship's basement spot.

The Berkshire side have only managed two wins all season and face a crucial fixture on Saturday at home to fellow strugglers Millwall.

Clement is under pressure, as per the Sun's Alan Nixon, the club are keeping tabs on Bolton boss Phil Parkinson as a potential replacement.

So should Reading make a move for Parkinson?

We discuss.....

Jacob Potter

It’s a difficult one.

Parkinson is a legend as a player at Reading and Clement has really struggled this season. But the bigger issue at Reading is the board of the club with Ron Gourlay being the main issue.

Parkinson shouldn’t want to work for Gourlay, especially after such a negative impact that the former Chelsea man has had on the club both on and off the pitch since arriving.

Parkinson would certainly bring some pride back into the Reading side but the board could ruin his reputation as a player by not backing him in January with funds.

I think it would be a solid appointment, should Paul Clement be sacked.

He is an astute manager who will give the Royals an identity and a way of playing.

Having spent 11 years as a player, he knows the cub inside out and will know the ethos of the side and what the fans expect.

It would be a positive move for the club if they were to go in this direction.

George Dagless

It'd be a great move.

A lot of Reading fans would be happy with him for obvious reasons and he'd surely be at least a bit tempted by going there.

He's done a good job for Bolton and Reading would benefit from his approach.
