Barnsley defender Liam Lindsay is being targeted by Italian outfit Brescia, in a surprise move on the League One club.

The 22-year-old is being lined up for a move by the Italians, and according to Alan Nixon, the Reds will ask for at least £3m for their defensive stalwart.

Lindsay only made the move to Oakwell just over a year ago when he signed a three-year deal with the Yorkshire club after a spell with Partick Thistle, and he has gone on to impress at Oakwell, drawing plenty of admiring glances from teams in England.

However, it now appears it is Serie B side Brescia who want to move for the defender, with Nixon reporting that the £3m asking fee is putting off potential suitors on these shores.

Lindsay was an ever present last season but despite his good form, could not prevent the Reds from dropping into League One. However, Lindsay and Barnsley have started their campaign in excellent form, recording two wins on the bounce, and with the European transfer window still open, Brescia could well make their move.

Lindsay would join a long line of defenders to leave Oakwell for profit, following the likes of Alfie Mawson, John Stones, and Marc Roberts in the last few years.

Barnsley fans, what do you make of this? Would you sell Lindsay? Let us know in the comments!
