Huddersfield Town manager Jan Siewert will be left in no doubt as to the task facing him in the Championsip this season, having gained only one point from his opening two league fixtures, while also bowing out of the Carabao Cup at the first round stage to Lincoln City.

Next up for the Terriers is the visit of fellow relegated side Fulham, another side that have had a mixed start to the season.

So could Siewert's job be at risk if Huddersfield lose to Fulham tonight?

We discuss........

Toby Wilding

"It wouldn't surprise me.

"Siewert doesn't really seem to have settled in at Huddersfield in the same way that his predecessor, David Wagner, did, and just one win in 18 since his appointment is simply not good enough.

"Indeed, that is something that is going to be viewed as relegation form in any division, and with the fans starting to make their frustrations known, you feel it will be hard for the board not to take notice of the situation even more than they already have.

"Ultimately, football is about results, and if Huddersfield's don't start changing sooner rather than later, then you imagine that the personnel will."

George Brooks

"I don't think it would be a wise decision for Huddersfield to sack Siewert after just three games of the Championship season.

"Huddersfield are expected to challenge for promotion from the Championship this season, so it's important that they get off to a good start, they've got a much better chance of doing that with Siewert in charge.

"At the end of the day, they've lost one game in the Championship so far and there would be no shame in losing to a team like Fulham, who are one of the favourites to challenge for automatic promotion.

"Of course Huddersfield fans will be disappointed with their start, but if the team get rid of their manager there's no guarantee the results will improve and if they sack him they may find it very difficult to find a good replacement."

Jacob Potter

"Surely he won’t be facing the sack anytime soon?

"Siewert hasn’t been in the job for very long, and the expectation this season should be for him to keep them in and around the top-six this season.

"I can’t see the Terriers being able to challenge for an immediate promotion back into the Premier League, and it would be a ludicrous decision if they were to sack him if they are to lose to Fulham.

"They’ve had a tough run of fixtures to start the season, and they’d be making a huge mistake if they were to get rid of him so early into this year’s league campaign."
