Jack Marriott has been used rather sparingly by the Rams this term, with Derby County boss Phillip Cocu having largely utilised the services of the striker from the bench this season, often favouring Chris Martin or Martyn Waghorn as his lone frontman instead.

Overall the statistics are arguably pretty telling for Marriott, with the former Peterborough United man having only found the net on three occasions during the 31 appearances that he has been afforded by the Dutchman this term.

Which is in stark contrast to the player's previous campaign under former Derby boss Frank Lampard, in which the 25-year-old netted 14 goals during his first season at Pride Park after joining from the Posh.

Given the fact that the striker has been largely underused this term, we felt now was a good time for Football League World Journalist Chris Thorpe to ask members of the DCFC - ITS IN OUR DNA Facebook group for their opinion on whether the striker should be dropped for tomorrow's game against Sheffield Wednesday or not.

Unsurprisingly this prompted a wide array of responses from the Pride Park faithful via social media earlier today.

Andy Bradley: He needs a run of games to come good. He is not an impact substitute.

Jane Wisher: I am torn between finding a settled partnership and swapping our strikers around until something clicks.

Steve Baker: Give him a run of games. We have nothing to lose now.

Keith Wilkinson: No, but it wouldn't surprise me if he was.

George Smith: No, he needs a few games.

Mark Tabberer: Yes! He’s not done enough in the games he’s started, or even when he has come off the bench to stake a claim for a starting spot.

Colin Leddington: He is our only natural finisher.

Richard Eland: Yes.

Alan Jenkins: Yes and get rid of him in the summer.

Rob Spargo: Give him another start.
