Bristol City are supposedly keen on bringing their former keeper Tom Heaton back to Ashton Gate as the keeper looks for game-time having dropped down the pecking order at Burnley, according to Alan Nixon in the Sun on Sunday (October 28, Page 59).

Heaton 32, has struggled for playing time following the arrival of former England No.1 Joe Hart at Turf Moor and Burnley could be happy to let him out on loan to stay sharp rather than leave on a permanent deal.

So would a move for Heaton be good business for Bristol City?

We discuss.....

Jacob Potter

This would be an excellent signing.

Heaton has only been left out of the Burnley side due to the impressive form shown by both Nick Pope and Joe Hart, and the shot-stopper certainly has the ability to be playing in the Premier League.

If Bristol City were able to pull this deal off, then it would be a major coup for the club this season.

Gary Hutchinson

Great keeper and one who has been so unlucky.

Burnley have an embarrassment of riches in that area and so Heaton is bound to be on the move.

I would be very surprised if he ends up at Bristol City though.

Surely there’s a Premier League club might want him?

Jay Taylor

It would be a very solid signing, should it materialise.

Out of favour at Burnley due to the signing of Joe Hart, Tom Heaton would probably be one of the best if not the best goalkeeper in the Championship should he move back to the second tier.

Bristol City have a good young keeper but having experience between the sticks will be vital in them maintaining their position and pushing on.

It’s a move that needs to happen.

George Harbey

It'd be a fantastic signing for City.

Heaton has become surplus to requirements at Burnley but is a very good goalkeeper with plenty more to offer.

It is a real coup for a club pushing for the playoffs in the Championship.
