It has been a worrying start to the Premier League season for Manchester United, who will undoubtedly be looking for some inspiration during the January transfer window.

Jose Mourinho will be looking at plenty of first-team players as potential arrivals, but the club will also have a keen eye out for emerging talent.

One player who they are reportedly keen to bring in is young Blackburn Rovers forward, Vilius Piliukaitis, who moved to Ewood Park on loan in the summer from the Lithuanian National Football Academy.

Rovers have an option to buy the 17-year-old in the January window, but United are keen to steal him, according to TEAMtalk.

If United are to land the exciting prospect they will have to see off competition from their top-six rivals, with Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham all keen on him as well.

If Mourinho were to get his hands on the youngster, would it be a good signing?

It's difficult to see him moving here.

Manchester United often dip into the European market in search of the best young talent, so I would be surprised to see them make a bid for the young forward at Blackburn.

If he does move to Old Trafford whilst Mourinho is still there then he will have his first-team opportunities severely limited.

A tremendous move.

Piliukaitis could really develop into an exciting forward and Man United will want to be at the front of the queue for him.

It's definitely something I could see happening.

It would be a strange one.

For Mourinho to move for someone who is only proven at youth level for a Championship side would be a very odd move.

But if the United boss sees something in him - why not?
