QPR manager Mark Warburton could have a challenge on his hands if he is to hold onto star attacker Ebere Eze, after we exclusively revealed that the 21-year-old is a target for Southampton in the January transfer window.

After three years at Loftus Road, it is this season n particular that the England U21 international has excelled, scoring six goals and making three assists in 13 appearances in the league.

So would Eze be a good signing for the Saints?

We discuss.........

Louie Chandler

"I think this would be an excellent signing for Saints.

"Eze is understandably one of the highest rated players in the second-tier and if Southampton could bring him in it would be a serious coup.

"The south coast side could certainly do with somebody like Eze, capable of getting his foot on the ball and driving a team forward, so it is easy to see why they are interested.

"However, QPR will not want to sell in January, especially if they are still in the midst of a promotion push, so they may have to shell out a lot of money."

Chris Thorpe

"I believe this would be a very good signing for Southampton, if they were to pull it off, particularly with Eze showcasing his undoubted quality on numerous occasions this season.

"Eze would represent the signing of a young player that could be brought to the club and be developed by Ralph Hasenhuttl, with Eze still only 21-years-old, meaning he is still in the very early stages of his career as a pro.

"He would provide the Saints with a player that can operate in numerous positions behind the striker, whilst also possessing strong finishing abilities that allow him to get goals from midfield.

"It would be interesting to see whether QPR would let him leave halfway through the season, with Eze likely to command a substantial fee if Southampton act on their interest."

"I think this could be a good signing for Southampton.

"Eze has been in outstanding form for QPR this season, and has played a big part in putting them in the early picture for the play-off spots.

"You feel therefore that he would be both ready and willing to make the step up to the Premier League, although whether he wants to see out the current campaign with QPR to see if he can help get them to the top flight.

"If he doesn't however, then his creativity and ability to take chances - which has come on considerably this season, which is already his most prolific league campaign in a QPR shirt - suggests that his arrival could be a big boost for a Southampton side who are struggling to really get going in the top flight so far this season."
