Leeds United returned to winning ways on the weekend as they downed Paul Heckingbottom's Barnsley 2-0 at Oakwell.

Goals from Samuel Saiz and Ezgjan Alioski secured the three points for the Whites, leaving Christiansen's side in eighth spot in the Championship table.

With December just around the corner, it means we are edging closer to the January transfer window, and the Danish manager will surely have one eye on it.

He will no doubt look to enhance his squad and there an array of Premier League players who could be up for grabs on loan.

Which Premier League fringe players should Leeds look to loan in?

We take a look.....

Chris Gallagher

Danny Ward, without a doubt.

The Whites are very weak in goal with both Felix Wiedwald and Andy Lonergan not convincing.

Ward, who was promoted with Huddersfield last season, is seemingly available and would be a great addition to the team.

George Dagless

Mo Besic at Everton.

I think Leeds still need a holding midfielder and Besic isn't getting a game at Everton at the moment.

Getting him on loan would be low risk whilst it would give Leeds' offensive stars more licence to do damage.

Alfie Burns

It would be nice to see Leeds raid last season’s Champions, Newcastle United, as some of their fringe players could really improve the squad at Elland Road.

There has been a lot of talk about Karl Darlow’s future at St James’ Park, and with Leeds’ ongoing goalkeeping problems, they could consider him.

Also, Aleksander Mitrovic is struggling for a game at Newcastle, and any if any club, particularly Leeds, could get their hands on the powerful striker, it would be a real coup.

Adam Simeoni

Ryan Kent could be available.

Another wide option could be what the club needs, and Kent could surprise many with his level of performance.

A squad filled with depth will help Leeds in the second half of the season.
