‘It would be a massive boost’ – Swansea City player to Elland Road: The verdict

Leeds United need defensive reinforcements bad and have been dealt incredibly bad luck when it comes to injuries and suspensions.

The summer will provide the perfect time for the Whites to sign some new faces, and one player who ought to be on Leeds’ radar is former Garry Monk favourite Kyle Bartley.

The Swansea City centre-back is not a consistent starter at the Liberty Stadium, and there is a case for the Whites to launch a summer swoop.

Should Leeds do everything in their power to seal a deal for the 26-year-old?

We discuss…..

Sam Preston

Nothing would please Leeds fans more.

It would be a massive boost, they would have a solid foundation at the back to build on and would add a leader to the dressing room. Hecky must have known that lots of Garry Monk’s success was built on a solid defence and he will be looking to do something similar.

There must be Chris Wood money still laying around and Bartley is still not in the first team regularly at Swansea.

There is a deal to be done and Leeds have to make doing it a priority.

Adam Simeoni

Bartley was class for Leeds last season and the club tried hard to sign him, but Swansea weren’t keen to sell.

Having hardly played a game this year, Bartley will be leaving in the summer, and Heckingbottom must make sure he chooses Leeds as his next permanent home.

The club have seriously lacked his presence at the back, and he would be the ideal man to partner Pontus Jansson at the back should he himself remain with the club.

George Dagless

They should certainly try.

They still need a new centre-half and such a signing would surely make the fans happy this summer.

Whether or not it happens remains to be seen, but he’s certainly not a regular in Swansea’s side at the moment.
