Aston Villa are weighing up a January swoop for striker Lewis Grabban, who is currently on loan at Sunderland from Bournemouth - reports the Sun on Sunday via the Express.

The forward has been in fine form for the Black Cats so far this season, and it is no surprise to see Steve Bruce's Villa take a keen interest in the player.

Would he a be a good signing for Villa?

We discuss....

Adam Simeoni

Villa are in desperate need of a goalscorer following Kodjia's injury, and what better man to sign than the in-form Grabban?

The Bournemouth loanee is scoring goals for fun, and if Bruce can secure his signature, then Villa will challenge for automatic promotion in the new year.

Chris Gallagher

Yes, this could be a great deal by Bruce.

The budget restraints mean Villa are going to have to be clever in the market and Grabban could be the perfect signing.

He's scored goals in a very poor Sunderland side, so there's no reason to think he won't score at Villa. He'd also relish the chance to compete near the top of the table.

Alfie Burns

He’d be a great addition to Bruce’s squad ahead of the second-half of the season.

Grabban has proved a lot of doubters wrong this season with his form at Sunderland, proving that he can cut it in the Championship.

Villa need reinforcements, and if they can get Grabban, it would be a major coup.

George Dagless

If he keeps his Sunderland form up then yes.

A striker is vital for Villa this January window if they are going to keep their top six challenge alive.

If Grabban can perform well he'd be a good signing but he has blown hot and cold throughout his career.
