QPR manager Steve McClaren will have to move quickly if he is to stop veteran defender Angel Rangel leaving the club in January, amid speculation of interest from Norwich City, Nottingham Forest and the MLS according to David Anderson of The Mirror on Twitter.

Rangel, 36, signed a short-term deal in the summer that kept him at Loftus Road until January but his form is such that he could be on the move unless the R's get the defender to sign a new deal.

So is the interest in Rangel a worry for QPR?

We discuss.....

Jacob Potter

It would be a huge blow for McClaren’s side.

Since he arrived at the club at the start of this season. Rangel has made the right-back spot his own, even with the return of Darnell Furlong.

His experience has played a crucial part in their recent run of good form and QPR should be doing all they can to keep hold of the veteran defender.

George Harbey

It's a worry for QPR, for sure.

Rangel has been one of their unsung heroes this term, and to lose him would be a blow that they do not need whatsoever.

With QPR's financial problems, it would be hard to replace him as well.

George Dagless

It would be a concern, absolutely.

Rangel has proven a shrewd signing for the R's and has helped bring some steel to their side.

Losing him, therefore, is something they'd obviously rather avoid.
