Despite a solid start to the season at Blackburn Rovers, the job for manager Tony Mowbray is to keep tabs on the players he may be considering recruiting come the January transfer window.

According to the Scottish Sun one such player on Rovers' radar is 23-year-old Livingston defender Craig Halkett who has been in fine form for his club so far this season.

Rovers face competition from Rangers and Sheffield United for the Livingston club captain, but would Halkett be a good signing for Blackburn

We discuss.....

George Dagless

It could be.

Blackburn have got a keen eye for a decent signing and so fans will be relatively confident this would be a decent move.

Livi have started well in Scotland and Halkett has caught the eye for his part in that.

Jacob Potter

Halkett could be a solid addition for Rovers and would add some much-needed depth in the centre of defence. The 23-year-old could be tempted to join the Championship club over other suitors, with regular game time being a real possibility at Blackburn.

Jay Taylor

He could be a good addition to a Blackburn side that could do with a few more defensive options.

They have had a settled side since last season and their promotion but there will be a need to improve and progress.

Charlie Mulgrew won’t be at his prime forever and there will be a need to better the squad.

It would be a good, solid signing.
