Sheffield Wednesday have had a busy summer transfer window so far with Darren Moore looking to put together a squad that can improve on last year and win promotion.

The Owls fell at the play-off stage last season with Sunderland getting the better of them but they have already acted quickly this summer to try and improve their squad.

Another player still being linked, meanwhile, is defender Harlee Dean and, that said, we asked FLW's Sheffield Wednesday fan pundit James Mappin whether he felt Dean would be a good signing:

"Without a shadow of a doubt, he would be a massive, massive addition.

"We've only got three centre-backs at the moment so we do need more, especially if we're going to be playing 3-5-2.

"Even if we do switch formation I think he'd be a massive addition. Okay he got some injuries last season when he joined us but when he did play I was very pleased.

"When you look at the fact that we've let the likes of Dunkley and Hutchinson go, it would be a fantastic signing for me."

The Verdict

Dean obviously had a few injuries last season for the Owls but, as James mentions, when he did play he had a positive impact on the team.

James is spot on saying that Wednesday could perhaps do with at least one more centre-back option, too, and Dean is a player that knows the club and has shown he can perform well at this level.

It could be a good signing if it happens.
