Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa is cracking on with his January transfer business, with forward Pawel Cibicki making a permanent move to Polish side Pogon Szczecin as confirmed on the club's Twitter account.

Cibicki has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with the Ekstraklasa side, following three years at Elland Road where he failed to establish himself as a first-team regular spending time away from the club on several loan deals.

So are Leeds right to have off-loaded Cibicki on a permanent basis?

We discuss.........

Chris Gallagher

"Without a doubt, it was a no-brainer for the club.

"Leeds have made plenty of poor signings over the years, as most clubs do, and Cibicki falls into that category. He didn't seem to have the physicality or the quality to cope in the Championship.

"Marcelo Bielsa recognised this pretty quickly and didn't think the forward was good enough to stay with the squad and from that moment it was about trying to shift the player on a permanent basis.

"The Whites have had to wait a while to get a transfer after previous loan spells but it's a deal that suits all parties. He was never going to get in the team this season and the harsh reality is that Cibicki just isn't good enough for where Leeds are right now or where they are heading."

Toby Wilding

"This is probably the best move for all concerned.

"When you look at Cibicki’s record during his time at Leeds, both for the Yorkshire club and the teams he has been out on loan to, it is hard to imagine him ever really forcing his way back into contention at Elland Road.

"This therefore allows them to clear space in their squad and their wage budget for potential new recruitment, which could help them in there push for promotion to the Premier League, more than Cibicki would be able to do while out on loan elsewhere.

"Completing this move could therefore be just what Cibicki needs for his career, given the increased opportunities it should give him to play regular first-team football for a side who are currently performing well at their level."

George Brooks

"This is absolutely the right decision from Leeds. Cibicki is a decent player, but things just didn't work out for him at Elland Road.

"His performances for Leeds were pretty underwhelming and he didn't really make enough of an impact at any of the clubs he was out on loan at to justify him reclaiming his place in the side.

"He clearly failed to impress Marcelo Bielsa after he took charge at Elland Road and it's very difficult to see him getting into the team ahead of Patrick Bamford.

"If he isn't going to play, it makes no sense for Leeds to keep him at the club. Selling him on a permanent deal will free up space in the squad and the money they get for him can be used to go towards any January signings."
