A number of Nottingham Forest supporters have been venting their frustrations over the latest reports that the Reds are in talks with Bournemouth over the potential signing of midfielder Dan Gosling.

The 30-year-old is an experienced midfielder and has featured 15 times in the Championship for Bournemouth so far this campaign, but Gosling has recently seen his minutes limited and he has yet to feature for the Cherries in the league since the turn of the year (Sofascore).

Chris Hughton has been keen to add to his midfield options this month and he has already brought in Filip Krovinovic. It is thought that the Forest boss is now keen to add Gosling to his squad and the Reds are in talks with Bournemouth over the potential of a loan deal for the 30-year-old, per The Sun on Sunday (24/01/2021, p59).

However, it is also being reported that Gosling is favouring a permanent move over a potential loan until the end of the campaign. That could prove to be problematic for Forest with the midfielder currently on £35,000-a-week at Bournemouth, and the Reds might not want to pay out that much in wages for him to move permanently to the City Ground.

Many Nottingham Forest fans were left frustrated with the move for the 30-year-old, believing that it would not be the right profile of signing that they need at the moment given his age and defensive-minded qualities.
