West Brom got back to winning ways with a 3-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday last night in the Championship.

After four games without scoring, a Charlie Austin penalty and brace from Matheus Pereira secured the points, moving them five points clear of Brentford.

Austin’s goal was his 10th of the season, with the 30-year-old now the club’s joint-leading goalscorer.

So, should he be the main man in Slaven Bilic’s attack for the remainder of the season?

He hasn't convinced me yet.

I've been disappointed with Austin this season as I thought he might set the Championship alight when he made the step down from Southampton.

He's struggled to really show the sort of striker we've seen he is in the past and though he found the net last night and was involved in some good build-up play, the Baggies need to see more from him if he's to be their week in, week out number nine.

He had just one shot on target all game – the penalty he converted for the game's opener – and won just one of his five aerial duels.

Austin deserves another chance to prove himself but he needs to do more to convince me he should be first-choice

For me, Robson-Kanu has offered a lot more for the Baggies this term.

Jacob Potter

Absolutely.

I still have absolutely no idea why West Brom weren't giving him more of a chance to lead the line, as he's already proven that he knows where the goal is.

I'm still not convinced by Hal Robson-Kanu when he starts up-front for the Baggies, and I feel that Slaven Bilic should have made a change earlier in the season.

Austin is the highest-scoring substitute in the Championship this term, and really impressed me against Sheffield Wednesday.

He's proven a point to Bilic with his goal against the Owls, and will surely fancy his chances of retaining his place in the starting XI when they return to action this weekend.

It should be a no-brainer for Slaven Bilic.

QUIZ: Can you name these 13 hidden ex-West Bromwich Albion players?

George Dagless

I think so.

I think it is fair to say that when all their strikers are fit and firing he is still their best forward and by a pretty clear distance.

It's not been the easiest of seasons for him but when you need someone to get you a goal, a striker like Austin is worth their weight in gold.

When fit, he's one of the best forwards in the Championship and I think they have to keep him in the side for the final games of the campaign, he really could be the difference between promotion or missing out.

Keeping him fresh has to be a priority for Slaven Bilic in the next few weeks and if he can do that the Baggies will be looking good.
