Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa will be chomping at the bit to get back to Championship action following the latest international break, when the Whites make the trip to Barnsley on Sunday lunchtime.

Bielsa's side have made a solid start to the new league campaign and as of yet have not suffered a shortage of available first team players, that blighted their automatic promotion challenge last season.

But to ensure he is not caught out this season, should Bielsa utilise the free-agent market to bolster his first-team options?

We discuss........

Chris Thorpe

"I am not entirely sure about this to be honest, it may represent too much of a risk for Bielsa.

"Whoever comes in for Leeds would have to adapt quickly to Bielsa's style of play and demands, with many a player falling foul to his methods since his arrival at the club.

"The only player I would recommend to the Argentine would be Wilfried Bony, who is still without a club, he would provide a good, experienced alternative to Patrick Bamford up top for Leeds.

"However it remains to be seen what kind of money is available to the club after bringing in a fair amount of players during the summer months."

Ned Holmes

“No, I don’t think there is any real need.

“Leeds’ first-team looks pretty strong at this point and I can’t see who they would bring in from the free-agent market to improve it.

“The Whites do look a bit light on numbers defensively and it could be useful for them to pick up one or two players to provide some depth.

“However, Bielsa is known as a perfectionist and you only have to look at the amount of time Helder Costa has spent on the bench as an example of how long it can take until he feels players are ready to play.

“It’s difficult to predict how long it would be before Bielsa felt any free agent, who hasn’t gone through pre-season at the club, was ready to have an impact.”

Louie Chandler

"I don't think it is necessary.

"Yes, they are still a squad very thin on the ground, but if there is nobody available as a free agent who is suitable for the team, what would be the point in signing anyone?

"I am certain that Bielsa will have looked at those available, as will the board, and if they have decided that there is no one about that will improve them then they need to be trusted.

"It has been a case of so far so good for Leeds on the injury front and long may that continue for them."
