After Ian Holloway replaced Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink at the managerial helm, Queens Park Rangers have steadily climbed up the table and now sit comfortably in mid-table with a ten point gap over the relegation zone.

With relegation fears waning, Ian Holloway may have begun making preparations for next season to ensure that QPR is in a much stronger position.

Following the arrival of Ian Holloway, QPR had a strong upturn in form, and a strong end to the season would see them carry the momentum into next season.

This is a particularly impressive feat by Holloway considering that he is mainly working with a squad that has been built by Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

In January, Holloway used the transfer window to create some space in the squad by allowing players to leave either on loan or on a permanent basis who he didn't regard as part of his short term or long term plans.

The summer transfer window could follow a similar path as Holloway uses it both as a means of stamping his identity on the squad but also as a means of improving the overall quality of the squad.

Ryan Bennett

When Ryan Bennett's contract comes to an end in the summer, a number of Championship sides will be considering picking up the former Norwich City defender.

With vast amounts of experience both in the Premier League and the Championship, the 27-year-old defender would be an astute signing for any Championship side.

Considering that Bennett has not only been ever-present for Norwich City this season but he has also been one of their stronger performers, he could be a steal for Queens Park Rangers.

With both Nedum Onuoha and Steven Caulker being linked with moves away from Queens Park Rangers in the summer, Ian Holloway may be considering bringing another central defender in.

Ryan Bennett could be the ideal affordable option for Queens Park Rangers, the 27-year-old defender would certainly add more quality at the back as well as enhancing the squad as another excellent defensive option for Ian Holloway to call upon.

Martyn Waghorn

One player who has been attracting attention from the Championship after an excellent debut season in the Scottish top flight is Rangers striker Martyn Waghorn.

Since making the move north of the border, the former Wigan Athletic and Leicester City striker has scored forty-three times in just sixty-seven appearances for Rangers.

However, following the departure of Mark Warburton to Nottingham Forest, Waghorn has also been linked with a move back to England.

A number of Championship sides including Nottingham Forest have expressed an interest in acquiring the services of the 27-year-old striker.

Queens Park Rangers could be one of the sides who are interested, Waghorn's prolificacy over the past two seasons would provide Ian Holloway with additional firepower whilst also serious enhancing the quality of QPR's forward options.

Danny Ward

As Rotherham United's relegation from the Championship seems inevitable, one player who will be attracting a lot of attention in the summer is Danny Ward.

The 26-year-old striker has had his most prolific season to date, as he has scored nine times and provided four assists for a struggling Rotherham United side.

In the January transfer window, Queens Park Rangers were amongst the Championship sides reportedly interested in signing the former Huddersfield Town striker.

Rotherham United rejected a number of bids from Queens Park Rangers who approached the proven Championship goalscorer on a number of occasions.

In the summer, Rotherham United will be resigned to losing Danny Ward. Compared to Queens Park Rangers' current striking options, Ward could seriously enhance the squad as a quality attacking option to either start or come off of the bench.
